I have previously reviewed this hospital following concerns about the treatment of my wonderful mother who passed away aged 64 in March 2014. Today, my father and I had a meeting with several key members of the team involved with her care. So, to be fair and equal I must say that the meeting certainly helped us to address our concerns and, rather than being defensive, they admitted to errors made and how they will be looking to address these concerns. It is best to contact Pals and/or the Patient Experience Team directly and ask to discuss your concerns. There have been mistakes, there have been misunderstandings from both sides and a lack of communication. This has been addressed and we feel a huge weight has been lifted from us and we can now grieve properly. Thanks to the team for the meeting. I cannot give a perfect rating as things were definitely wrong but their proactive approach to issues raised is certainly reassuring.
