"Concerned about operation"

About: Southmead Hospital

I must say that having been recently diagnosed with breast cancer and having experienced a few visits to Southmead Hospital and also now having read some reviews I am feeling very anxious about being admitted for my operation next month. It seems that if it is not one thing then it is another thing wrong . When I arrived early for my diagnosis I enquired at the help desk for the restaurant and was told that there was a small Area right at the far end of the building. Here a few elderly ladies sold a few sandwiches and hot drinks - no healthy meals etc. I have been kept waiting over an hour and a quarter on both occasions for my appointments with no explanation offered re the delay . The information sent out to me states that my well being is of the greatest concern but I am not seeing much evidence of this so far . Maybe my expectations are too high ?

Dear Anonymous, Thank you for your comments, we are sorry that you are anxious about your care at our hospital and that when you have attended your apointments you have been kept waiting without explanation. We are pleased to be able to inform you that other vending areas have now been opened in the hospital to support the League of Friends Service, which we hope you will find helpful when you attend for your next appointment. If you would like to contact us on 0117 3233710 or email us at Compaints@nbt.nhs.uk to discuss your concerns in more detail so that we can perhaps help to alleviate any anxiety you have then we would be pleased to hear from you.
