"Would not recommend"

About: Ripon and District Community Hospital

The minor injuries department here deals with minor injuries and hosts GP out of hours. However, I would not use it again for anything other than a cut finger or similar. The treatment is often delivered in a manner that implies you are interrupting a tea break and is frequently totally inept. I visited here in December 2013 having contacted GP out of hours. On arrival they wouldn't allow me to see the GP and the nurse practitioner decided to deal with me. He started banging on about not prescribing antibiotics and how they weren't really allowed to before I had said a word or he had examined me. There appeared to be an agenda from the start. He then declared a virus blah blah blah. It was a nasty bacterial infection as diagnosed by my GP 24 hours later at an emergency appointment where she told me that had I actually seen the GP she was confident this would have been correctly diagnosed. My voice has been permanently damaged. I tried to feedback to them about this but they didn't seem interested so I am posting this review to inform others.
