I visited children's a&e on Friday 20th June (evening) after my 9 year old hurt her foot on a bouncy castle slide. We were seen very quickly by a lovely student nurse and another helpful female nurse, they were very caring and professional. Unfortunately I can't say the same for the doctor!!! When we were call through by said doctor he said to my daughter 'what hurts' (not hello or ant politeness) she was just about to speak when he looked down at her foot and said 'the foot' (not even examining it) then he scribbled on an X-ray form and said I'll show you were to go and pointed at X-ray sign. The guys in X-ray were great and very good with kids. When we were called back by doctor for X-ray results he took us to a computer where we had to stand behind him and he checked them and said ' no breaks, I will refer X-rays and someone will telephone you if problem' with that he turned round and that was it. No people skills what so ever, something which is essential when dealing with children I get doctors are busy but a bit of common curtacy and caring doctors in the children's area is essential. It's just a good job your nurses were so good there!
