"I was given my own room which ..."

About: Whipps Cross University Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

I was given my own room which was very clean. The staff were very friendly and tried to be as helpful as possible. I did find they were very under staffed and struggled with the busy pace of things. Lack of staff caused patients to get irate and worried about their care. It does need a boost of cash and TLC. I find it very unfair that some hospitals get all the money and others don't. It a terrible system of targets and patient care has suffered because of it. It needs to change. Every hospital needs attention, not just the well performing target ones, as it is not a business!

What could be improved

It needs to be adequatley staffed and managed. Whipps Cross has great potential to improve in all areas if it was managed and funded properly.

Anything else?

By asking the staff as well as the patients what is needed you will have a fair idea. By overworking staff you will not get the result needed. Good management is essential to oversea any problems that need addressing. Patient care is of upmost importance and having a good influx of staff could ease the pressure.
