"Thank you staff of ward 6"

About: Wansbeck Hospital

Me and my baby were both brought in to wansbeck a&e department after a accident. We were both treated very well. Baby was discharged and i was kept in for surgery. I would like to thank the staff of ward 6 for the care and support during this difficult time. I was quite upset during my stay but a member of staff was always there to talk to or help out. Couldn't of managed without them. My only criticism would be the way me and my baby were split up. We weren't even given the option for him and my partner to come to the ward with mw while i settled in but this was due to a&e staff

Dear Madam, Thank you so much for your review - we are always very grateful when people find the time to share their views on care. I am so sorry that your accident and subsequent surgery has meant that you have been separated from your family - I can imagine how difficult this must have been for you. I am glad that the team on ward 6 were able to provide you with all the support you needed at this very difficult time. We want patients in our care to always remember our staff for their kindness and compassion. It's lovely to know this is true for you and that there was always someone there to talk to when things felt really tough. I will ensure the ward staff have an opportunity to read your note and understand just what this meant for you. Thanks too for letting us know how we could have done more to help you settle in to the ward. I will share your thoughts with the A&E team so that they can be mindful of this in future.
