"Care recieved by ward 4 and surgical assessment unit Wansbeck hospital"

About: Wansbeck Hospital / General surgery

(as the patient),

I had surgery as an inpatient on ward 4 at Wansbeck hospital end of December and since then I have had another two admissions to the ward and I wanted to write to say how amazing and fantastic the staff were. I worked in healthcare for northumbria healthcare trust so I understand the importance of excellent patient care. I would like to express my gratitude to Julia hall and all her team they do any amazing job. Since my operation I have been a regular visitor to the surgical assessment unit in fact visiting two or three times a weeks up until a couple of weeks ago and the staff are all fantastic the care is second to none really. Especially Karen the staff nurse she is kind considerate and no questions or concerns I had were a problem. The whole team do an amazing job.

So I'd like to thank all ward 4 staff and surgical assessment unit including sue the tissue viability nurse who with her intervention my wound healed quicker they are all an amazing bunch of staff who give absolutely fantastic excellent quality care.

Dear Sir/Madam

Thank you for such a wonderful review of the care you have received from the staff at Wansbeck Hospital.

I am sorry that you have had so many visits to the hospital over recent months but it is reassuring to know that each one of them has involved you feeling truly cared for.

Having worked for the Trust you will know how hard all the staff work to provide excellent standards of care for our patients. Thank you for echoing our priority of excellent patient care. It means a great deal to know we have looked after you in a similar way.

I know how much your comments will mean to each and everyone of the staff, particularly Julia and Karen.

Thank you again and I do hope you are recovering well.

With best Wishes

Annie

Not at all, my pleasure. We're very grateful when people take the time to share their experience of care: all stories, good or bad, help us learn and improve as an organisation.

I am delighted that we can repay the commitment you gave to the Trust by providig you with the care and support you need now.

All the best, Annie

Dear sir / madam, Thanks so much for this. As someone who has worked in healthcare, and indeed worked in our Trust supporting others, I am so glad that we were able to give you the high quality service you deserved just when you needed it. It sounds like you have had many opportunities to witness care across a number of our teams - I feel very proud that you have found excellence in all of them - you will already know how important that is to us. Take great care of yourself and let us know if there's anything you need, Annie
