"The care provided by TGH's staff during my stay "

About: Tameside General Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics Wythenshawe Hospital

(as the patient),

In April I experienced severe chest pains and suspected, quite rightly, that I was experiencing a heart attack. I drove myself to Tameside General despite enduring the worst pain I have ever experienced. On arrival at A & E I was seen almost immediately and treated with an injection in the stomach and given aspirin.

I was x rayed, had an ECG and blood tested. The reaction of the medical staff was superb. Having been stabilised I was transferred to the Medical Assessment Department where during my week's stay there the staff, Consultants, doctors, nurses and auxiliaries, displayed a level of professionalism the Management can be proud of.

Later transferred to Ward 31, the same level of professionalism by the staff there was apparent. On discharge I was handed over to the Physiotherapy Department for rehabilitation which is almost complete.

I felt it necessary to write to you to complement your staff in all four wards/departments for the sheer professionalism shown and I know that this is also felt by many of my fellow patients.
