"Pleasant staff at Northern General Assessment Unit"

About: Northern General Hospital / Respiratory medicine Sheffield PCT / District nursing Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust

(as the patient),

I was admitted by ambulance to the Northern General for the treatment of breathing problems (I have Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disorder). I was in an Assessment Unit and then in the ITU for two days. Then I was on a big ward for another three days until Paul (my District Nurse) came and got me out. It was nice that someone came to get me out and take the trouble. And he came to visit me the next day to see if I was alright.

Everyone was very nice - the ambulance people and the staff in the Assessment Unit. It was nice chatting to the other patients in the Assessment Unit. I don't remember much about the ITU but the big ward where I was sent afterwards was fine - very nice nurses.
