"I also had a kosher food problem in the royal free"

About: Royal Free Hospital

You would have thought that the royal free are experts in kosher food, but similar to the review a few days ago I also had problems receiving kosher food whilst in the royal free. I was quite unwell and couldn't really face food. For the first few days it was a sandwich service. Nothing hot, not even a soup. Luckily my family brought me in hot food. But that was an expensive hot meal with a parking ticket at 10pm. The car park was deserted so late at night but for some reason they started ticketing at night. After a couple of days hot food started coming but I was never given a choice and when I was moved which happened twice again it was the sandwich service for the first couple of days. Not very pleasant on a Fri eve when the family couldn't bring me food and a warm chicken soup would have been useful. I couldn't face the sandwiches any more, much too heavy. I also use Barnet and the royal free are really significantly better as a hospital. But when it comes to kosher food Barnet do a much better job. You get to your bed, meal time comes, you get a hot kosher meal. The royal free seem to take a few days to realise that your there before hot food arrives. Also I found the lifts to be packed and considering my age/walking capability I packed lift makes it hard to hold on whilst it is moving.
