I attended the A and E department at the NGH last night having fallen and made a huge gash in my knee that would not stop bleeding. On arrival I received excellent information about the waiting times (4 hours for me in the end) and the lady on reception updated by details. I didn't mind waiting for so long as I knew I wasn't as much of an emergency as some others. I was assessed pretty quickly by a lovely nurse. When I was finally seen in the early hours of the morning the doctor was brilliant. He was reassuring, listened to my story and sorted out my injury. He also arranged for a follow up appointment later this week. We are so lucky to life in a city with this standard of care and although no one likes to wait a long time, sometimes there are more urgent cases, the standard of expertise here cannot be bettered. Thank you to all at the NGH you are fab!
