"1st Class Hospital"

About: Goole & District Hospital (Acute)

I have just spent 3days in Ward 3 having been transfered from Scunthorpe where I had been taken to A&E due to a reaction to my chemo treatment. With bed and staff shortages at Scunthorpe and me living just 6miles from Goole it would have been far better to send me there in the first place. Why is this hospital not used more? It is a first class hospital in every respect. The staff are friendly, kind and very efficient. The treatment is 1st class, the hospital clean and well run. I have been twice before in the past five years ,once for an operation and once for treatment and each time I have received first class care. Also I have regular outpatients appoints and mostly get sent to Scunthoupe, why? Please make more use of Goole so that patients and their families do not have the added stress of long journeys and can be sure of 1st class treatment and care. Thanks especially to staff at ward 3,you are great. Because I was unable to eat they even bought me a build up drink. Dont ever close this 1st class hospital, use it more.

Thank you for taking the time to post your comments on here, we are very proud of Goole hospital and all the services it provides. It's always worth asking your GP if it's possible to refer you to Goole for your treatment. However, sometimes there may be a reason why you would need to attend Scunthorpe instead. Kind regards, Sarah Mainprize
