"Excellent Personal care and efficient clinical..."

About: Royal Stoke University Hospital

The initial form filling procedure was a bit fraught as the staff member noting my details kep asking my wife and son rather than myself (because i was in a wheelchair?). However that was the last bad moment in a three day stay for assessment and provision of NIV. Once installed in a room in ward 222 i received a very high level of personal care. As i have MND (ALS) and am dependent for many of my daily needs, the knowledge that i could get help from cheerful and willing nurses and support staff whenever needed made by stay much less stressful thab i have encountered in other hospitals. All staff worked hard but never showed any signs of stress to patients, thus creating a friendly welcoming environment. I cannot praise the staff on ward 222 too highly, they were brilliant and a credit to the NHS
