"My grandson moved to st thomas Evelina children's..."

About: St Thomas' Hospital (London)

My 14 month old grandson was moved from our local hospital, a team from St Thomas came to collect him, my daughter was in a dreadful strata at our local hospital as he seemed to be deteriorating at a rapid rate! As soon as the ambulance arrived both my daughter and hr partner were shocked at how quickly he was stablished! When he arrived at St Thomas he was taken straight to intensive care with a dedicated nurse sat at the end of his bed, I won't go into too much of what was wrong with him but his life was in the balance! I have absolutely nodoubt that the doctors and nurses saved his life, I could never thank you all enough, you so not get the praise you deserve! They are absolutely wonderful with the children and the patents and information with regard to what , when and why something was being done was related straight to his mum and dad! At present he is still at St Thomas Evelina Children's hospital and I just can't thank you enough or all you have done and continue to do for him, he started off in intensive care and has now been moved to the high dependency unit which is huge progress, I have been up to London everyday to see my grandson and my daughter and I find a huge improvement everyday! I have read reviews on here that have not been very good about this hospital! I would just like to say that from our point of view we feel absolutely blessed that our little man was admitted to this truly wonderful children's hospital, I can hardly bear to think it but had he not been, I think we may have lost him! Thank you to all the doctors nurses and all the staff in Evelina, you have given us back our little man, we can not ever find the words to express the feelings for your truly wonderful and continued care of him, there are no more words, his condition now speaks for the wonderful care he has received, you look around the ward and every child is treated exactly the same, the nurses were actually singing and dancing with a few of the little ones tonight, It is not a miserable place to be at all even though the circumstances are probably the worst that we have all been through when he got so ill! Thank you and bless you all!

We are delighted to hear that you and your family have had such a positive experience of your grandson's care at the Evelina London Children's Hospital. Your kind comments mean a lot to the staff in ELCH and have been shared with the teams on Intensive Care and the High Dependency Unit. We are glad to hear that, as well as high quality clinical care, your grandson's parents experienced good communication from staff throughout their son's stay. We know how much difference this makes to parents and carers during such a difficult time. I would like to pass on the hospital warmest wishes to you and all your family as your grandson continues in his recovery.
