"No explanation about badly injured ankle"

About: Grantham & District Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as the patient),

I went to A&E for 7.30 am and the receptionists kept apologising to me as they had a new computer system and couldn't find my details. This took about 10 minutes.

Within 5 minutes of sitting in the waiting room I was called through to see the triage nurse then I took a seat in waiting room again. For 2 and a half hours I waited to see a doctor.

I was taken for an x-ray then sat and waited again. Once called back to the doctor she told me I had not broken my ankle and walked out the room. I was not given any after care advice nor an explanation as to what was wrong.

We are very sorry if there was a delay for you to be seen. Unfortunately delays can occur when the A&E Department is busy. I would like to apologise if you were not given after care advice. Your experience will be shared with the team.
