"Pain Management very long delays to get an..."

About: Milton Keynes Hospital

I broke 2 bones in my back when I was in my mid 20's and from by early 30s I was seen by the pain clinic due to serious and painful sciatica issues. for the first 5 years going back and forth the time scales for an appointment where really acceptable. in the last five years its been absolutely shocking how long you have to wait to see the one consultant they now have. The consultant is fantastic and true diamond to have as his care and attention is top level. However my last appointment I had full steroid treatment carried out in April 2013 and advised by him that he would need to see me in 3 months time.... its now June 2014 and still I waiting to receive a follow up appointment. I have chased MK hospital twice over the last couple of months and just told that there is a huge back log and I would receive an appointment soon. my steroids have worn off months ago which means in order for me to have my next treatment I would firstly need to see him, which is a million in one chance, to then be put back on another waiting list for another year! something really needs to be done about this as I am sure I am not the only person who is fed up with the time scales this department currently have seeing patients. to top it off three times in the past my file has been lost and I have had to do all the running around to sort out why I haven't been seen or received any appointment. ....can some please sort this out as its really not acceptable to be in pain for over a year and still not get any idea when you would be seen or treated.
