"Day Surgery Unit were Amazing"

I went into the Day Surgery Unit for an emergency procedure to remove an infected cyst on my back. I was pretty delirious with pain by the time I got to them. The staff were amazing. Even in as much pain as I was, I picked up on a bubbly happy atmosphere in the unit and between the staff. They were quick, thorough, spotless clean and respectful. I felt they genuinely cared about me. The anaesthetist and the surgeon on the other side of the door, again were hugely respectful, gentle and caring and I really did feel completely safe in their hands. A particular thank you to the recovery staff keeping an eye on me every 5 mins when my blood bp dropped after surgery, and for them ensuring I had coffee and sandwiches as a comfort. In particular who was the nurse in charge of my care, was amazing. Clearly a dept of professionals that take their jobs and their bedside manners very seriously. Thank you for making an awful time for me a little easier to bear. alex mctaggart
