"Excellent service at MacMillan Wellbeing Centre that the NHS could learn from"

About: MacMillan Wellbeing Centre

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

In regards to the caring and compassion shown by staff, I've never known such an unconditional space to be in. They really meet people at their point of need.

Their use of complementary medicine, like touch therapy and mindfulness, is so beneficial to your physical and mental health and well being because you can't separate out the physical, mental and spiritual.

This is what the NHS should be like, with complementary medicine available on hospital premised so that the links are made, but something about the system is preventing it. Body, mind and spirit need to be treated, not just the body! NHS care feels very automated, especially in contrast to the holistic care from the MacMillan Wellbeing Centre.
