"Problems with the choose and book system "

I go to Primrose Avenue, Urmston, and there are lots are great things there: the GPs are lovely, they really listen to you, take your medical history and make referrals to the appropriate places. The choose and book system is horrendous though.

It used to be that you got a referral to hospital and you'd get triaged there by a specialist. But triaging doesn't happen any more, post GP referral. It seems to be a fault of the system which means that someone in an administrative role is deciding when your next appointment should be, despite not having any understanding of your health condition and the urgency of when you next need to be seen. They don't have the expertise to decide on appointment times and it's inappropriate.

I think that patients don't want 'choose & book'; they want to be told who they need to see and when.
