"Some staff are great and some are not!"

About: Royal Lancaster Infirmary

Some staff are great and some just get on and do their jobs which is good. I am still in hospital and I have been treated like a 2nd class person. One nurse told me people like me should go home because there are too many of 'me' here. My mum was born here and so was I. At times I have wanted to go home and face this type of bullying and has caused me alot of stress. But I am not well enough to go home yet, I am still in hospital. If you are not white English you will be treated less reasonable to the point that it has an impact on your emotional and mental state. I have phoned management. Warning if you do contact them then staff will treat you worse. I have seen staff give favors to other patients who talk like them, they give them free goodies like walking socks while I have to go to the loo bare foot. They do not clean themselves after each patient and treat the older folks with less care. There are some stars who work here. There are nurses here who go that extra mile - thank you. It does seem that they are under staff and this affects some of the above outcomes, therefore some of responsibility has to lie with management and the culture of the place. Great staff - continue the great work and sorry you do not have enough support to do your work as well as you would like. One of the nurses who wanted to do her job well nearly cried while the others just plied on the load on her and lied about my treatment. There is a bit of a us and them culture here. Other staff - Please treat us better than dogs and we ethnic minorities have the same colour blood as you and we love our country too, that is England I am talking about. :) This is my 2nd review with the same issues so there has to be changes from the top and with the culture of the place. I did not get back to you last time because I have lost trust in you. I would be happy to take part in some type of voluntary group / board to help with the change, but only if it has teeth and not just a show. Thank you for looking after me, I am still in hospital for a while this time typing from my bed waiting for my toast and wondering what type of staff I am going to face today. lol.
