"Yet again exceptional care"

About: Yeovil District Hospital

This is my 3rd operation at Yeovil, this time was on Jasmine, yet again from pre -assessment right through, excellent care, friendly helpful staff no matter which rung on the ladder they were the care was excellent, staff on Jasmine were so friendly, nothing to much trouble even though they were run off their feet, night team were also gentle and caring. It was my second time being cared for by two members of staff and they are as ever kind compassionate efficient,they had humour as well, which sometimes is lost in other hospitals I have been in,they make you feel so welcome and cared for,not sure how to explain it exactly,I suppose they made you feel individual and part of the ward with such ease depending on what was needed, the whole team worked well together. I saw such compassion at night when a fellow patient woke up confused and frightened, I wish I could remember the nurses name, she was so kind to this lady, so respectful, reassured her and then through the night I saw her gently checking back and forth that the lady was ok, I think it was Saturday night. I feel that the way all these staff are with patients must help with patient mood. Only down side, awful vegan food, no nutritional concern given, apart from a staff member who new exactly what to do and provided me with a great balanced meal and dessert, maybe they could train other staff for when he is off, one day I was given half a bag of penne with tom puree stirred through and that was it,not going to get well on that. Anyway big thankyou to everyone, hopefully I will be able to keep away for a bit, great staff,thanks Alison
