My wife was referred to a consultant at PAH about 5 months ago by a GP regarding a potential heart condition. I don't know his name. He said he wanted to see her again in three months. When the appointment letter came it was for an appointment this coming Friday (30 May). Today my wife received a phone call from a woman at PAH saying that the appointment had to be cancelled because "there are no doctors". What is going on with these people? A patient presents to some medical person at PAH and is told she will be seen again in three months. An appointment is made but five months later. A few days before that appintment it's cancelled - apparently another will be made for some time in the future. If thgere are "no doictors available" to quote the anonymous woman who telephoned my wife today why make appointments at all? Please havve some consideration for patients. As it happensd my wife has recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. She is quite distressed. I'm just furious and will be in touch with our MP.
"Cancelled appointment"
