"d wagstaff coronary episode + elective..."

About: Basildon University Hospital

firstly i would like to thank everybody at basildon ctc rodin ward thames ward and the pre op on ground floor for there professionalism and expert conduct from the senior consultants to the admin staff and all others involved in making my own experience there a very positive one.The level of care and communication i received there in my opinion was fantastic i can only go on my own experience as ive only had one life threatening heart attack so cant really give you a michelin guide style critique of other specialist heart units. From the middle of the night heart attack to the follow up and discharge i have nothing but praise and grattitude . thanks also must go to the ambulance team for there prompt arival to where i was staying in Rayleigh . I overheard them preparing the ground on the radio to there control at basildon and remonstrated with them in my morphine indused state almost begging to go to southend instead of basildon , to which i was reasured by them that basildon was the gaff to be under my circumstances . My unqualified fear of basildon hospital was probably media endused as we are continually served up bad news and never good news about hospitals and the people who sacrifice financial rewards to do vocational work in the service and care of others .after my emergency treatment in september 2013 i returned to manchester to recover at home as i commute to work in london weekly and was fortunate that my episode took place during the working week and not after my friday night commute back from euston to piccadilly .After a period of recovery i was readmitted to have multiple elective angioplasty procedure 23 /05/14 which again was a very pleasent experience. If i could suggest anything to improve basildon ctc it would be to move it lock stock and barrell from just off the a13 to the main road between san antonio and ibiza town around about where manumission used to be ,only joking being a proud essex boy who has relocated to manchester it is a great asset to be celebrated .On a more serious note a look into the hospital policy on processed food or the banning of it on hospital grounds a la smoking is an area that is a consideration for future thought prevention being better than the cure and all that [education] To sum up thanks again to everyone concerned ,this is my first review letter ive written since leaving school in 1982 but felt compelled to give my opinion and thanks . I understand the other guys frustration at having to be rebooked for his operation ,as i was syked up for my procedure and i know how scarey the whole situation can be ( i had to be laid down on a bed whilst they got the cannular into my arm ) i would try meditation as that has worked for me and is widely promoted for stress lowering untill you get youre new date.If you are going to have a heart attack or preventative surgery make sure you are only a short ride from Basildon .DarrenWagstaff 46 year old male construction worker.

We are pleased that your recent experience of care within the Cardiology unit at Basildon and Thurrock University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust was a good one, and that your fears were unfounded. We will forward on your kind words and suggestions to the department staff. Thank you for taking the time to tell us your feedback.
