"I feel turned away by mental health services"

About: Somerset Partnership NHS Foundation Trust / Adult community mental health

(as the patient),

Since the beginning of the year they have persuaded me time and time again into believing they were going to offer me support and I feel I am just kept constantly anxiously dangling whilst leaving me with no support.

At a recent appointment my advocate told them my extremely personal story about why I was suicidal (something I have tried to talk about with them since January but got no response, in March I then spent 5 days at a suicide respite centre in London, who wrote a letter to them stating I was still at risk) and I was told something like, 'Yeah, well we're going ahead with discharge anyway'. I felt no concern, no compassion, in fact to me it feels like just contempt.

From this, which to be honest was so upsetting but also very humiliating (I mean what can be worse than one human being turning away from another like that)? I can only surmise that (a) they don't care, (b) they actually want me to go ahead and do it or (c) they don't believe me. I'm inclined to believe its all 3 from the way I have been treated.

I feel you are playing Russian roulette with people’s lives. You are not infallible! You should all know that from last time when I was disbelieved and put through a massively traumatic experience. I feel you are doing it again.
