What I liked
spent 11 days in SCBU with my baby the parent rooms are fantastic and the staff very friendly and helpful to a new mum and dad who were totally bewildered
What could be improved
labour ward was dirty - i had a high risk pregnancy and was in and out for assessment alot i was disgusted to find blood that was splattered on the inside of a toilet door was still there 2 weeks later when i returned very worrying considering people give birth in the rooms ajoining!
I had a very bad birth and was poorly afterwards there were never enough staff when i was there to look after me properly, i was left with a full catheter bag and had my first meal after c section 3 hours later than i should have because no one realise because they were too busy! The midwives were running around like headless chickens trying to make the best of a bad lot.
One night on SCBU there was a staff shortage and they were one below the accepted minimum staffing level, i sat with my daughter that night as i was terrified they would be too busy to care for her properly
Anything else?
I will be seriously considering going to another hospital for my next baby as i cannot bear to think about what it will be like next time
