"shocking night staff very rough with patients"

About: Princess Royal University Hospital (Orpington)

I cannot express how angry and shocked i am at the service i received whilst in the eau ward at this shocking hospital. I was told i would need to be admitted and have an iv drip placed. The First nurse joked asking me if i am going to cause her trouble with my veins she stuck a cenela needle in the back of my wrist to tell me i had valve in my vein she continued to push it further into me causing me to scream in pain only to say she needs to do it yet again second time again she done it wrong and rammed it in the back of my wrist for me to scream yet again she then said oh i better get a proper nurse to do it. I was left shivering in shock until a lovely gentlemen done it on my other hand within seconds. This was the first part of my horror. Whilst in the ward we were shouted at by night staff i was so jumpy due to the way they shout and pull you around in pain. They don't use your name they shouted hello why are u not listening get up get up and stop ignoring me i need your blood pressure. They were rude and i felt like an animal in a cage. The lady was also rude and grabbed very elderly patients by their arms and squeezing them way to hard to the point the elderly patients would yelp in pain and beg them not to hurt them you could see the whites in this nurtses's knuckle's as she squeezed an 89 year olds fragile frame. I asked for some sticky tape as my iv drip needle had lost its stick and didn't want to knock it out in the evening to be grabbed by my hand and squeezed on top of the needle this nurse grabbed a bandage and wrapped it extremely tight around the needle which hurt. I told her she is doing it too tight for her to call me a stupid girl its not tight what is the matter with you! Never in my life had i experienced such neglect. In the morning my hand could not withstand the drip due to this woman's brusing that she caused. I discharged myself out of fright i prey never to go back there and it left me having nightmares for days after i got home. The only nurses who were nice were two ladies called Claire and one called Janet. I sincerly worry about the care in this hospital. I also witnessed a lady dying opposite me during my stay. They lost her notes and couldn't find a medical box of some sort. Deeply concerning that public entrust our lives with these awful people.
