About: Princess Royal University Hospital (Orpington)

Hmmm.... This is the stroke emergency check. Once you've checked, called an ambulance and arrived at hospital no one seems to see the urgency. We are very disappointed with the service my 83 year old Mother received from this hospital. She was sent home three to four hours after having arrived in hospital with four Asperin. Paperwork was lost, no one calls when they are expected to and she is still waiting for an MRI and further tests, over a week later. My Mother was given part of her assessment in the corridor. We had to move over every time someone wanted to come through, even though the cubicles behind were mostly empty. Wen she was eventually taken through to an assessment booth, there was blood on the floor from a previous patient. On a follow up visit my Mother was taken off for a CT scan – then left to wheel herself back to find us! The list of errors is far to long to mention here but we would seriously worry about her having to go back into this hospital again. Some staff were great – however, we witnessed a particularly obnoxious (possibly junior) Dr who felt that it was beneath him to have to carry a very frail elderly ladies bag of medication through to the assessment area. We have a relative who has been training to become a nurse. She was almost there but has decided to pull out as it's no longer about care for the patient. Come on Mr Cameron, what the heck is going on! Surely going back to basics is the secret?
