"The NHS at its utter worst"

About: Princess Royal University Hospital (Orpington)

My Head barman badly injured his right hand while wiping a table which had broken glass stuck in the table groves. We got to Princess Royal at approx. 23:30. We were told to seat & wait. Nobody asked to see the injury, no triage nurse. The staff comes & go at the pace of snail. I tried again to the ladies behind the desk to raise some kind of concern as my barman became cold & shaky. They had absolutely no interest in his injuries. Two hours on I then started to take photos of our surroundings & the people in it. They called security which in turn caused the nursing staff & doctor to appear. We got to be seen & be told that his injuries were bad & he had to go to East Grinstead. Off we went it was 02:45am! We got some timid apologies. I have never encountered such bad attitude, bad service, laziness, contempt, ignorance to public service & rudeness.

This description of lack of assessment /triage is of significant concern. I would be grateful if you would contact us to provide more detail so that we can fully investigate the concern and our contact address is kch-tr.palskent@nhs.net In the absence of further detail we will of course be able to identify the attendance of your barman to review independently his waiting time and the lack of assessment. I assume that he required a plastic surgeon to attend to his injury and that is why he was transferred to East Grinstead as we do not have that specialty on site at the Princress Royal site.
