"I will never be treated in the day surgery wards..."

Having suffered for many years and almost crippled in pain having to use crutches to mobilise. I was admitted to the day case ward yesterday for facet joint injections and after being met by a nurse who said" I will be looking after you today" and that was the last time I saw her !! I was put into a tiny room with 6 chairs in it, I tried them all and none were that comfortable to sit in for hours, and a small coffee table. It was overly hot and humid, which made it very uncomfortable. We could see the desk and that seemed to be the preferred place for all the staff to be. One in particular did nothing but moan about everything and was heard to say very derogative things about patients who were leaving the ward. Staff walked back and forth past the room we were in with bed pans and urine bottles and they were not wearing gloves !! A member of staff serving drinks just stuck her head in the door and seemed not to see me sat there, I went to ask for a drink and she turned and left without a word. My daughter went to ask if I could take pain killers as I was in lots of pain and got told " yer no problem" she didn't even enquire what I was going to take and I had my morphine with me, they wouldn't have noticed if I'd drank the whole bottle. 4 hours later a gentleman came in to get my consent signature as they had forgot to get it when they checked me in. A little while later a theatre nurse came to collect me, she was lovely as was everyone in the room I was taken to, although I was a little concerned that none of them were wearing groves, I presumed this was due to my latex allergy, but was in so much pain I just let it go and wanted to get sorted, after the procedure I was wheeled back to the little room and near enough hauled out of the chair and told" that's it you can get dressed now and go home" I was horrified, in a load of pain and to be honest totally disgusted with the way I was treated. A formal letter of complaint will be sent to the trust .
