"two parents, two ops, one surgeon"

I found myself in the position of having both parents operated on by the same surgeon on the same day. So it potentially could have been an extremely stressful day! However the nurses and doctors staffing the Upper GI Ward kept me updated and were aware of who I was, and that both parents were on the ward. They also made a special effort to update both patients on eachother and made special arrangements to let them visit eachother. It was a personal touch I wasn't really expecting and made me feel a lot better about leaving them there at the end of the day feeling the staff actually cared. Really impressed.
