"Letters postmarked Northgate Hospital."

About: St Georges Hospital Site (Morpeth)

My letter to attend a consultation at St Georges Hospital through the Northumberland Psychological Wellbeing Service was franked or postmarked with Northgate Hospital. They deal with learning disabilities and I have no learning disability. Information is, in turn, shared with this hospital for some unknown reason. This is outrageous.

Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust has a range of hospital and community based services across a large geographical patch. In respect of the Northumberland Psychological Wellbeing Service, which is based in the County of Northumberland all correspondence sent out to patients or professionals is sent to a centralised franking office at Northgate hospital. This is purely for franking purposes and the content of all correspondence is sealed prior to reaching the franking office to ensure that patient information is treated in a secure manner.
