"To my surprise counselling really did help"

About: Inclusion Matters Sefton

(as the patient),

When I first came for counselling, my life felt like it was a mess and I couldn’t cope. I had split with my partner after 24 years and he was making my life a living hell. I always thought I was a strong person, but he wore me down so much I just kept breaking down.

I had death threats from him and really did think he would kill me. He made it so hard for me to sell the property we shared together, which would be my only way to get away from him.

He played so many dirty tricks that were evil, is the only way to describe it. I didn’t really think this counselling was for me, but to my surprise it really did help. My counsellor, Gemma, taught me how to start coping again and I can’t thank her enough.

I am back on track in my own home and starting to move on after 2 years of hell.
