What I liked

The professionalism of all the staff I met, from pre-op visits to the day of the op itself - everyone was so kind and understanding (my first ever op - keyhole surgery).

I also appreciated the bright, cheerful atmosphere and the confidence-inspiring cleanliness everywhere.

The quality of printed information given me in advance of the op was also most reassuring and helpful.

What could be improved

The only (tiny) thing I can think of is that, this being my first operation, it would have been useful to know what would happen to my belongings while I was in theatre. As it turned out, I could have taken more and they were kept very safely for me.

Anything else?

I have visited patients in several other private and NHS hospitals across the Midlands and the North recently and Airedale beats them all for its general ambiance and for the competence/kindness of all the staff I encountered. Believe it or not, I actually enjoyed my day in Airedale!
