"Poor disabled parking at QMC"

About: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - Queen's Medical Centre Campus

(as the patient),

I attempted to park in disabled car park. I was unable to do so as 50% of cars parked did not have blue badge displayed.

Thank you for your feedback. We acknowledge that there have been problems in the past with disabled parking spaces being used inappropriately, by vehicles not clearly displaying a disabled parking badge, and that when visitors park inappropriately it has an impact on patients, visitors and carers who need these spaces the most.

Our car park staff do patrol these car parks regularly to ensure that patients and staff are parking appropriately, and will continue to do so. I am sorry that at the time you needed to use this particular car park, you were unable to.

Thank you for getting in touch. We are sorry that you were unable to find a disabled car parking space when you visited our hospital. There have been some problems in recent months with both patients and staff parking in disabled spaces without blue badges. We have taken action and are policing the use of our car parks to ensure appropriate use of these spaces.
