"The nurses on F21 are dedication to the QMC by far..."

I was a patient on ward F21 for many weeks. The care, deadication, passion and professionalism shown by nurses on this busy Gastro ward is over and above of that which is expected of anyone in this sector. Working under imeance pressure on what is a very busy and specialist ward that can have many unwell and complex patients that need dedicated and specialist care.Even during times of being pulled on there resources no job is to big for these caring staff members.The buzzers go off constantly and during busy times like always the staff attend to the patient with a smile and caring nature. Staff will work through long shifts and choose not to go on breaks until the patients are dealt with. This on its own reflects the deadication of the staff.In recent months due to my ill- health I'v had a few admissions to hospitals with prolonged inpatient stays, but my time at the QMC f21 has been by far the best to none. The great teamwork that is felt and reflected in each staff member can be seen across the ward. The feeling of care and compassion is often over ridden in this modern NHS not out of choice for many but due to the nature and demands that are expected and put upon nursing staff in the NHS nowadays. They are expected to be robotic and switch off from what use to be the centre of care for patients TIME but as the NHS moves forwards this is being taken away from the nursing profession and for what reasons many go in to the profession for as they are caring natured individuals wanting to make a difference. Its something that still can be felt on this ward from each member of staff I feel proud to have been cared for by such a dedicated team of professionals.
