"Avoid unless you only need a plaster or dressing"

About: Caterham Dene Hospital

I attended the MIU at Caterham Dene Hospital and was seen by a male nurse who was severely lacking in patient care skills. I question the value of the service as apart from the most minor conditions that you could probably treat yourself they are unable to Deal with it. This man was not authorised to request X-rays or able to prescribe medicines (although he falsely claimed he could). So how on earth could he treat me. There was a number of failures involved which I won't go into. But when I complained and saw his report it revealed that he had placed comments on record which were false and aimed at protecting his own position regarding his failure to provide adequate care. The nurse in question also failed to follow the hospitals protocol on infection control. This could have hade serious consequences for patients with wounds. The trust made some changes to how they do things as a result of my complaint In summary. If you have a stubbed toe as above or a cut finger requiring a plaster then by all means attend this service but please do not consider going there for anything more serious as they do not have tthe ability to carry out the necessary tests or privide the most basic treatment
