"struggled to get a follow up appointment after..."

About: Royal Preston Hospital

I made a complaint about endoscopies at the end of February and requested a different consultant for a follow-up appointment. I was experiencing chronic pain since the endoscopy and informed them of this. For weeks I got a lip service - assurances that I would get an appointment with a different physician- but nothing actually happened. First I was told that my original follow-up in April be kept but a different consultant assigned, and that this would be confirmed in a letter. No letter came, so I contacted the secretary to assure them that without a letter I'm not coming to the April appointment (after the endoscopy I'm not so trusting). So then I was told that April appointment was cancelled and I would get another one with a locum. I made another complaint and eventually got an appointment with the locum in May. It took six weeks and at least six requests from me to achieve a follow up nearly three months after procedure. In the meantime I had to burden my GP with the post-endoscopy pain.
