I am going home today after being in Kingfisher ward for 6 weeks. This review is to put anyone's mind at rest who are being admitted to this ward. I was extremely nervous at leaving Derriford even though the staff and some patients on Shaugh ward had wonderfull praise for Kingfisher. I soon found out this unit is an amazing place. I was put into a single room. The staff from cleaners to doctors treat you with the utmost respect. The atmosphere on the ward is extremely uplifting.Sometimes of course they get short staffed but you are never made to feel a nuisance. I could name staff but as I am not good with names could possibly leave someone out that had been so kind and so I will say a major thankyou to each and everyone one that I had the good fortune to be looked after by. I will finish by saying anyone reading this who is coming to Kingfisher please do not be worried you will be absolutely fine. You will be helped to make a good recovery to get home as soon as possible.
