"Awful experience"

About: Guy's Hospital

I went yesterday to the Urgent care section with my brother. We arrived 6:45pm and we knew that last patient acceptance is at 7pm while the unit closes at 8pm. We have been told from a rather irritated receptionist that we cannot be accepted and we should go tomorrow. For her own good luck i didn't keep her name in order to mention that here. When I asked for the reason she said that they were very busy and they were turning down visitors from 6pm, btw in the waiting room only 2 people were waiting to be seen! I asked her: do you call this busy? She didn't have a straight answer by telling us that "we reserve the right to turn down people when we are busy!" I asked her do you have only one doctor available? She said "yes". Now you reviewers tell me please if this is a unit with dignity for urgent care patients! One of the most famous hospitals in London having 1 doctor in urgent care treatment and at least 2 people behind the reception. This is how your taxes are utilized in NHS! Worst health system on earth! Feel free to go and waste your time! Ridiculous!

I'm sorry to hear of your experience at Guy's Urgent Care Centre. We have recently been experiencing high numbers of patients attending Guy's UCC in the late afternoon, which has occasionally meant that we have had to stop booking patients in earlier than we would like so that the unit can close safely on time. We are currently looking at several options that may help us overcome this problem. Thank you for taking the time to give us feedback.
