About: Darent Valley Hospital

I've just been in the CDU my treatment was very good both from both doctors and nurses the only thing that was up setting it was a six bed ward there was 4 men and two ladies i do't think this was right there was only one loo so we all had to share it, that was wrong, when you are felling unwell and in a hospital gown no no to same sex wards,

Dear Ms Watson Thank you for taking the time to write about how good both our doctors and nurses were during your stay on CDU. I am sorry to hear that you were place in a mixed sex ward during you stay on CDU. Our expectation is to implement single sex sleeping accommodation on CDU at all time unless there is a clinical safety concern for the patients (those requiring close monitoring). I have spoken to the senior sister on CDU and re-iterated the need for 100% compliance. I do understand that it is not easy and dignifying to share a common space with the opposite gender specially when we are not feeling our best. Kind regards, Fawez Molotoo Matron Clinical Decision Unit
