I am writing this to express my thanks and appreciation for the superb treatment I had when visiting the endoscopy dept. on Saturday for a colonoscopy. The journey started when I booked in at the reception desk. I was, I admit it, shaking like a leaf, but the smile and the courteousness from the receptionist helped, and I sat down to wait for to be called. I didn't have to wait long until I was called into see the senior sister. She was friendly and put me to ease immediately. Everything was explained to me, and my medication checked. I was feeling much happier. I was then taken to a small waiting room where I waited about an hour to be seen by the consultant. She discussed and explained the procedure in detail. I had no qualms by that time, and was pushed on a trolley into the procedure room. I was offered sedation, but decided against it. The procedure was painless, albeit a bit uncomfortable. I was given gas and air, which I used at will. It was all over in forty minutes. Nothing nasty was found, thankfully. I was taken to a ward, where I had biscuits and tea. Which was welcomed, considering I had nothing to eat for 24 hours. All in all I found the staff, professional, friendly, and understanding. They made the experience, bearable in the nicest possible way. Many thanks to the endoscopy unit. A big thank you to all concerned.
"Superb service"
