"Outpatients waiting time"

I attended an outpatient appointment last Wednesday. My appointment was at 11.15am, when I arrived I was told there was a half hour wait, however it was nearly 12.45 when I saw the consultant. The staff on reception didn't give me or the other patients waiting any explanation, however the nurse who called me through for my appointment was very apologetic. Having to wait an hour and a half to see the doctor in unacceptable, especially when I had to take time off work to attend my appointment. I really hope this won't happen again when I go for my follow up appointment.

Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry that you did not have a positive experience when attending the outpatient department and apologise for the long delay and for not keeping you updated about how long it would take to be seen. Your feedback is valuable. Customer service training has since been delivered to both nursing and reception staff and I hope that further experience of our outpatient department will be more positive. Sue, Outpatient Manager NW
