My wife recently underwent a major operation for the removal of a cancer in her bowel. From the moment of diagnosis to the day of her discharge she received the best possible care and attention. She was directly involved in all the decisions regarding her treatment and the final decision to operate was her own. Her aftercare, both in intensive care and later in a recovery ward was first class and she was made to feel that nothing was too much trouble She's home now and recovering well. The N H S is often accused of neglecting elderly patients but at nearly 84 years of age my wife was treated exactly as we would have wished. Well done R U H and thank you.
