"I was extremely pleased to be ..."

About: Queen Elizabeth Hospital (Gateshead)

(as the patient),

What I liked

I was extremely pleased to be allowed to return home, as the staff on the ward had not taken details of my medication and returning home enabled me to recommence medication as prescribed

What could be improved

- Communication between doctors and patients

- Basic dignity and respect from nursing staff. My drip was out for over three hours after staff were alerted to it. I was incontinent of urine and told a member of staff who said "don't worry" and did nothing to change me or make me more comfortable.

I was sent home continuing to vomit and in great pain.

Anything else?

Use the choose and book system to choose another hospital! This one is poorly run and shows a shocking lack of basic standards of patient care.
