I was referred initially for counselling but ended up being re-referred as it was felt I needed more than could be offered and so eventually was referred to IAPT.
I've struggled with the mindfulness course that was offered and have concerns over repeated inaccuracies in the written reports to my doctor (e.g. that I wished to be known by a single alphabetical letter. Where did that come from?).
My final two assessments were barely 10 minutes each and the resulting letter to my GP seemed stunningly dismissive considering how I felt and and again contained inaccuracies from my perspective and simply ignored vast swathes of how I was feeling.
I desperately wanted help but have come away with the feeling that the service was a bad match for me and has left me feeling more depressed, anxious and hopeless than when I started.
"Disappointed with IAPT Services"
