"Birth of our Son - 20th April"

Just wanted to say a very big thank you for the amazing care that we received following the birth of our son George Rutledge on the 20th April 2014. I have never come across a team of such selfless and helpful people as the team of midwifes on Coral Ward. No problem, request or question was any trouble and was always answered efficiently and with a smile. I would like to say a special thank you to a particular memeber of staff who spent a great deal of time with us particularly when we were having some difficulties in feeding our 2 day old son. She put aside an hour of her valuable time to assist with feeding him and to giving us pointers on how we should approach this once we got him back home. This level of service was unexpected but was so gratefully received. It also allowed us to get some much needed rest! Our little boy is doing well and is now feeding properly, which we have no doubt is partly to do with the advise and help we were given at the time by Maxine. I myself need to thank the team for the wonderful care they paid me after my Caesarean Section. I found it very difficult in the first few days and was very grateful for all the help that I was given. Can I also point out that the staff in the recovery ward (HDU?) before and after my Caesarean were outstanding and made me feel very much at ease in the moments leading up to my operation. Particular mention for the amazing spinal which I did not feel at all! There was also a particular person who spent a great deal of time initially after my operation to assist with my attempts to breast feed and although this wasn't successful at the time her perseverance was very much appreciated. I feel it is important that recognition is received for the staff here that provide such good care. Thanks again to all concerned and we hope that this feed back is passed on to the staff mentioned and that they are recognised for the work that they do. Amanda & Steve Rutledge
