I went to see the specialist at guys for my bottom which was very efficient & the doctor I saw was impecable. However in the pre-operative assessment on first floor tower wing was so busy that after waiting an hour and a half was moved to another assessment place close by were i was promised that we would be seen straight away. An hour later i was still waiting but eventually got seen. Now in march i came for another assessment for a different procedure which the nurse had infornt of her . Instead of doing another assessment she just copied my details to the assessment sheet she was doing for this proceedure without asking to wether anything had changed. The nurse was rushing because it was late in the day, Unfriendly & when she copied the notes just said "your done". I felt that there was no explination to what would happen next . She held up a booklet about anesthetic and said "did you get that last time " and i said " yes" she just threw it back to were she got it from and did not enquire to wether i still had it. I think that because of the time of day she did not exercise her duty of care 100% . I realise that there are pressures on nursing staff but none of us want to have operations they end up being nessasary. Please can you just remind nurses that patients wait for long periods of time to be assessed and further waiting for procedure which is all stressful. Mistakes are made by rushing and when i left the hospital i was left feeling like i was part of a hurd of cattle. The doctor was fantastic, friendly and proffessional. I only wish i could say the same for the nurse.
