What I liked

The total professionalism of every member of staff I met from A&E reception through to the Theatre and Ward staff. This was consistent for both my stays at Frimley Park and both my operations. This was my first ever stay in any hospital and I was extremely impressed with the very high level of care I was given here. There are too many people to thank personally and especially as each played an equal part in a very effective team. I stayed on Keats Ward and I could not have found a more compassionate, informative, gentle and caring staff anywhere. Nothing was too much trouble for any member of staff. I noticed at the entrance to the hospital that Frimley Park is recognised as an Investor in People. As an Investor in People Assessor myself I subconciously looked for reasons why this should be so and I found them in abundance. A wonderful team spirit, very well trained staff who have an amazing level of knowledge and skills which experienced staff share with younger in service colleagues A very high level of effective communication and handover. I could go on so I completely endorse this Award. A very real example of this is with one particular Nurse... on Keats Ward. This young nurse told me she had only recently qualified and yet her bedside manner and her nursing care of me during my stay could not have been better. Other more experienced nurses and the Ward Sisters were giving her their time and knowledge despite being so busy themselves. I was so impressed with her level of skills and

knowledge which could only come from a very effective training programme and the help of colleagues. Her bedside manner I believe comes from her own desire to become a first class nurse but also from observing her colleagues. Keats Ward Sisters, nursing staff, cleaners, Tea/meals lady, Theatre Doctors and Nurses represented for me the best of all I experienced at Frimley Park. I would publicly like to thank you all for the wonderful medical care I received.
