I decided to choose North Mid as my hospital to give birth because it was close to me and because it seemed like they have invested a lot of money on a brand new maternity ward so I thought I'd give it a chance despite the bad rep it has. Well I wish I hasn't bothered! Straight from the beginning, the first person you meet in the antenatal clinic is the receptionist, a rude, in helpful lady who when asked a question answers back with 'how should I know, I'm only a receptionist' the question I asked was so simple and she could have pointed me in the right direction. She also started an argument with me for pretty much no reason at all, very patronising and makes you feel as though you don't want to ask a question so I left with no information at all. The sonographer that I had was a man and not friendly or comforting at all. Have me yes/no answers and I also felt that he just wanted to get on with and onto the next so he could go home. Even when you see the staff walking around, their faces are so miserable it makes you feel depressed and down in that environment. They look like they could be the midwives which is very worrying. I've decided to switch hospitals as I can't possibly keep preparing for battle when I visit the hospital, I just can't be bothered with it.
"Terrible antenatal clinic"
