"prostate cancer biopsy and radio therapy"

About: Churchill Hospital

had a biopsy for prostate Cancer which was virtually painless which unfortunately proved positive I had radio therapy treatment for 37 days and I thought the staff were very efficient professional very friendly and reassuring I would find it very difficult to fault any of them I still have my first follow up appointment to come the only thing I would like to have had before I had my radio therapy would have been more information ie hormone injection every twelve weeks (I was told every 3 months)what creams to use to minimize effects of the radio therapy and what types of cream to avoid and the use of Simple soap I was informed a few weeks into my treatment but would have liked to have know before hand. I would like to thank all the staff for all their help and kindness and keep up the good work

Thank you for your very kind comments regarding your care. It is always nice for the Trust to hear when things go well and I am very pleased that you received the service you would expect. I am sorry that you did not receive all the relevant information prior to your treatment and would like to thank you for taking the time to tell us how we can improve the service. Your feedback will be passed on to the staff responsible for your care and should you wish to contact the Trust directly with any further comments or concerns please do not hesitate to contact the Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) on 01865 221473 or at palsjr@ouh.nhs.uk and a PALS Officer will be happy to help.
